| Although many people are aware that it is not safe to drink and drive ... sadly, most people do not think of the many other serious consequences of drinking alcohol.
Face the Tears Project is collecting clean used handkerchiefs to be used to create a visible reminder of the tears that flow as a result of broken promises and tragic losses linked to the toxic effects of alcohol. As you know, these effects include but are not limited to: failed marriages, alienation of friends and family, physical and mental abuse, sickness and injuries, birth defects (such as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome), loss of possibilities, hopes, dreams and even DEATH.
Here’s how you can help…
1) Visit http://www.facethetears.org/ to learn more
2) Collect HANDKERCHIEFS (to symbolize the tears/hurt/pain)
3) Collect stories or write a story of the negative effects of alcohol—two pages or less. Compelling stories would relate to a crisis such as a failed marriage, a loss opportunity, a death of a loved one, etc.
4) Include contact information. Photos are welcome, especially if you are remembering a loved one. (Some may wish to have their story signed “anonymous” or use a different name and that is OK, just let me know.)
5) Mail to: Face the Tears, 17826 Stoneridge Dr., North Potomac, MD 20878
Note: Send as many handkerchiefs as you can collect ….EVEN IF you do not send a story as I will add the handkerchiefs to the display to represent the countless untold stories.
Our goal is to collect thousands of handkerchiefs for this display. May God touch your heart, inspire you and bless you as you join with me to bring awareness to the pain and suffering caused by alcohol.
